Sheikh Khazali calls on the government to increase its support for Sinjar and appreciates its decision to own the residential homes of the Yazidis

The General Secretary of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, today (Wednesday) appreciated the decision of the Council of Ministers to own the residential homes in which the Yazidis live in Sinjar, while calling on the government to increase its support for the judiciary and facilitate the procedures for the return of the displaced. His Eminence Sheikh Khazali said in a tweet on Twitter, “The decision of the esteemed Council of Ministers to own the residential homes in which the Yazidis have lived in Sinjar since 1975, and which they were deprived of owning under the criminal Baath regime; is justice for this oppressed segment that suffered injustice and marginalization.” Throughout the reigns of the governments and regimes that swept over Iraq. He added, “This fair decision by the Iraqi government came to end the suffering of nearly half a century, experienced by more than a quarter of a million Iraqi Yazidis, without the most basic rights, which is the right to own property. ISIS terrorized thousands from their homes in Sinjar.
Sheikh Khazali called, “the Iraqi government to increase the support provided to Sinjar, and focus its efforts on providing the necessary infrastructure for the return of life to it, and providing all other necessary administrative requirements.”
He also called on “the Kurdistan Regional Government to facilitate the procedures for their return, to contribute to alleviating the suffering and injustice of this authentic Iraqi component. Sheikh Khazali concluded his tweet by saying: “We salute the Prime Minister and his esteemed government for this important decision, and we promise our people from the honorable Yazidi community to continue supporting their legitimate demands.
