On Thursday, the Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq , Sheikh Qais Khazali, stressed the need to maintain judicial independence and to not interfere with its work , he also expressed his disapproval of the government’s police procedures and the horrid torture methods that are practiced by some subordinates of few security agencies on the prisoners beyond the bounds of law, humanity and morality.
Through Twitter, Sheikh Khazali stated in a tweet, “unfortunately, what is happening during the term of the present government with the police procedures, arrests without warrants, the horrid torture method that are practiced by some subordinates of few security agencies on the prisoners beyond the bounds of law, humanity and morality, obtaining confessions by force, imprisoning detainees for tens of days without investigations or recordings of their statements in private detention facilities and then the interfering of this government in the work of the judiciary, disobeying its orders and also relating false news to important leading figures for misleading and overpowering them. We state that all these matters are unacceptable and demand a clear stand from everyone on judicial independence, not interfering with its work and isolating it from the urges and whims of the Executive Power.”
