Al-Salihi: The US ambassador’s interference in legislating laws is a blatant interference in the country’s affairs

The representative of the Sadiqoon Parliamentary Bloc, Rafik al- Salihi, On Wednesday, expressed his astonishment at the government’s silence towards the interventions of the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Elena Romanowski, describing them as attempts to blatantly interfere in Iraqi internal political affairs.
Al-Salihi said in a press interview, “The interference of the American ambassador in the issue of legislation is a blatant interference in the internal political affairs of Iraq.
He added, “Legislation of laws is within the competence of the government and parliament, and no outside party can interfere,” pointing out that “Iraq has sovereignty, a government, and a parliament elected by the people, and it is the one who decides to legislate laws in coordination with the three presidencies.
He explained that “what Elena Romanowski made about enacting laws is considered a transgression of the mission set for her and a blatant interference in the internal affairs of Iraq.
He pointed out that “the moves of US Ambassador Elena Romansky are far from real diplomatic representation, especially since her actions must be in accordance with diplomatic frameworks.
