The Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Today (Friday)called on the government and parliament to take deterrent measures to stop the Turkish attacks on Iraqi territory, while stressing the need to take political and economic steps that force the Turks to respect Iraq’s sovereignty and water rights. And the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq said in a statement, that the continuous Turkish attacks and repeated violations of Iraq’s sovereignty, the occupation of its lands and the establishment of military bases on it, and the underestimation and belittling of Iraqi blood in this way is far from the principles of good neighborliness and international laws and norms; It requires from all corners of the Iraqi state (government, parliament, political forces and popular activities) a unified and firm stance towards what is happening and doing everything to ensure that these violations are deterred and prevented from recurring. And the statement added that, after reviewing the reports of the field security leaders and the formed committees, which confirm that the occupying Turkish forces are the ones who have targeted Iraqi cities and innocent citizens more than once, and this has led to dozens of martyrs and injuries among innocent citizens. The Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq also expressed its surprise at some of the discordant voices that justify these disgraceful acts against Iraq and the Iraqis and try to make the presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) inside Iraqi territory a pretext for these actions, indicating that everyone that the presence of the (PKK) is caused by the Turks themselves who took advantage of Iraq’s political and security conditions They concluded a peace agreement with the PKK in 2013 and brought them into Iraqi territory, taking advantage of our preoccupation with confronting ISIS gangs. and indicated that the Turkish government had led the PKK to Iraqi territory so that they would have an excuse to realize their dream of creating a buffer zone under their control, as they did in northern Syria, if we do not go far and say that they are preparing the conditions for it to be a fait accompli with the approaching end of the Lausanne Agreement. And he continued, some justify this presence and say that it is legal because there is a security agreement between Iraq and Turkey, while the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that there is no agreement; Neither at the time of the previous regime, nor at the time of the governments of the current regime, and the agreement that the Turks brag about is a record of a meeting held between the two sides in 1984, allowing Turkish forces to enter Iraqi territory at a depth of (5 km) for a period of (72) hours only; Provided that she graduates after that, and the provisions of this report shall apply for one year only, ending in 1985. And the statement stressed that, after following the routine government procedures, which did not rise to the level of repeated violations and the sanctity of Iraqi blood, we in the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq place hope on the members of the esteemed Iraqi Parliament to record in their history another honorable patriotic position after its decision to remove the American forces, as we await. On Saturday, they issued a parliamentary resolution obliging the government to take the following measures: 1-Expelling all Turkish forces, and ending the presence of any bases or military barracks on Iraqi territory. 2- Commitment to implementing the provisions of the constitution that do not allow the use of Iraqi lands to attack neighboring countries. 3- Not only submitting a complaint to the United Nations, but submitting a request to hold a session of the UN Security Council to oblige the Turks to withdraw from Iraqi territory, and to pay the necessary compensation for repeated violations and spilling Iraqi blood. 4- Take political and economic steps that force the Turks to respect Iraqi sovereignty and Iraq’s rights. And in the event that Parliament fails (God forbid), we will be with the decision of the people and their honorable resistance to confront this occupation and its continuous violations and its disdain for the blood of innocent Iraqi people.
