Sheikh Khazali stresses the importance of the citizen’s role in combating the scourge of corruption in all state institutions.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, praised today (Saturday) the government’s efforts in combating the scourge of corruption, and while stressing the need for the concerned authorities to take their role to fight this phenomenon and save Iraq’s reputation, he stressed the importance of the citizen’s role in combating it in all state institutions.
Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali said, in a blog post on the “X” website on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, which falls on January 9 of each year, that “the most prominent and important role of the government and its supervisory and judicial institutions lies in their tireless work to combat financial, administrative and moral corruption”.
His Eminence added, “Corruption is a dangerous scourge that has ravaged the body of the Iraqi state for decades, while tightening the hands of the Prime Minister and officials in the competent anti-corruption agencies”.
His Eminence stressed “the importance of the citizen’s role in reporting suspicious cases of corruption in all state institutions, calling for all cooperation to eliminate the whales of corruption and their cronies who have plundered public money and harmed Iraq and the Iraqis”.
His Eminence also stressed the importance of this day being an approach that everyone adheres to in order to save the reputation of the Iraqi state and preserve the wealth and wealth of the people.
