A member of the political bureau of the Al-Sadiqoon Movement in Holy Karbala, Salem Al-Abadi, warned on Sunday, against attempts to spread sectarian poisons by some political figures to gain electoral gains. While he pointed to the role of “Khamis Al-Khanjar” in supporting terrorism, he called for holding sectarians like him accountable.
Al-Abadi said during a televised interview that Al-Khanjar’s statements are not surprising, especially from people who play on sectarianism, indicating that the process of choosing the timing by mercenary people is clearly visible and is a process of begging for votes.
He added that Khamis Al-Khanjar and others like him are known for their role in supporting ISIS and their cheap sectarian slogans, calling for attention to attempts to spread their poison, and their cries will be of no use.
He pointed out that the Iraqi people know what Al-Khanjar and others like him want, and the judiciary is called upon to hold these sectarians accountable, stressing the necessity of not allowing these sectarians to harm our country and spread a spirit of division among the people.
