A member of the political bureau of the Al-Sadiqoun Movement, Sheikh Saad Al-Saadi, confirmed on Wednesday that the provincial council elections took place with great fluency and great popular interaction, while conducting the voting process in a transparent and smooth manner was considered a success for the Shiite Al’atar Altansiqei.
Al-Saadi said during a televised interview that holding local elections is considered an “accomplishment” for the Sudanese government, and that this success lies in the collective work and monitoring of the Shiite Al’atar Altansiqei.
Al-Saadi revealed that negotiations officially began with the rest of the blocs to form local governments, indicating that all blocs support holding elections and forming local governments since the provincial councils represent a “constitutional” issue.
He pointed out that many governors were “failures” and did not provide services to their regions, stressing that every governor or local government that does not provide services will be held accountable.
He pointed out that there are some parties that want to involve the Shiite house in a conflict by talking about the identity of Baghdad and moving it to another component, indicating that the results of the elections will not affect the identity of Baghdad.
Al-Saadi believed that the local elections were “exemplary” and good, despite the presence of some parties that intimidated voters and prevented them from reaching the polling stations in Baghdad, which affected the participation rates in the elections.
