A member of the political bureau of the Al-Sadiqoun Movement, Bassem Al-Zamiliy, confirmed today (Friday) that the situation in Iraq is heading towards two options and not a third after the incident of targeting the martyr Abu Taqwa.
Al-Zamiliy said during a press interview that the country is faced with two options that have no third: either the departure of the American embassy staff and combat forces in its entirety or a comprehensive armed confrontation.
Al-Zamiliy considers the targeting of important leaders in the Popular Mobilization Forces and defenseless innocent citizens by American combat forces to be systematic murders.
He pointed out that the American embassy committed many diplomatic violations and its blatant interference in internal Iraqi affairs and its cover-up of many crimes committed by the American combat forces and its management of those crimes are sufficient reasons to stop its work in Iraq.
Al-Zamiliy believed that it is unacceptable for the presence of an embassy for a country whose primary mission is coordination and diplomatic dialogue, and the presence of combat forces that deliberately kill, bomb headquarters, and violate sovereignty.
