The representative of the Al-Sadiqoon, Ali Turki Al-Jamali, revealed on Sunday the presence of organizations affiliated with the banned Baath Party in several Iraqi governorates. While he pointed out the penetration of some of these organizations into the joints of the security services, he pointed out the presence of demands from the Sunni component to abolish the “Accountability and Justice” law.
Al-Jamali said, during a televised interview, that the danger of “Baathism” is one of the dangers that political forces have kept silent about, especially since there are those who accept “Baathism” in the Iraqi arena so far, indicating that the abolition of “accountability and justice” was one of the demands of the Sunni component when forming the government.
Al-Jamali confirmed that the deceased “Baath” Party currently exists as in previous years, and there is a complete organizational structure for it extending from Basra to Zakho, a national leadership, and official communications, in addition to its penetration into the joints of the security services.
Al-Jamali pointed out that there are 6 branches of the Baath Party in Basra, headed by a “secretary” and divided into all districts, pointing out that officials of the Baath organizations buried in Babylon, Nasiriyah, and Basra were recently arrested.
Al-Jamali considered that Dhi Qar Governorate is the governorate that most harbors the dead Baath organizations, as it contains 5,000 Baathists, including “supporters” and band members.
He stated that the government of Erbil is holding back and embracing the of secret leadership of Iraq, Issam Al-Saffar, and refuses to arrest the Baathists, while it was made clear that the official of the Baath organizations who was buried in Babylon was sentenced to one year in prison for unknown reasons.
