The representative of the Al-Sadiqoon, Hassan Salem, confirmed today (Monday) that there is still an opportunity for Iraq to achieve giant economic development by joining the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative, while he called for abandoning the losing economic partnerships with some countries, especially Jordan, because of the depletion of resources they cause, as well as the Its anti-country stances.
Salem said in a press statement, that there is still an opportunity for Iraq to achieve gigantic economic development that advances the country’s reality by joining the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative, as it represents the heart of Silk, and abandoning losing economic partnerships with empty countries, such as Iraq’s partnership with Jordan.
Salem stated that Iraq did not obtain any return from its partnership with Jordan, despite the corresponding harnessing of the country’s resources to its benefit by giving subsidized oil and canceling customs duties on Jordanian goods, most of which are Israeli goods, as well as establishing industrial cities whose benefits return to Jordan and the loss of billions of dollars to Iraq.
He added that, despite all of this, on the other hand, Jordanian positions hostile to Iraq are escalating, the latest of which is the participation of Jordanian aviation in bombing the Iraqi government’s security sites represented by the Popular Mobilization Forces sites in Al-Qaim and Akashat.
