Sheikh Khazali: Involving the Popular Mobilization Forces in political work is incorrect … Stressing the importance of preserving its security role.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, confirmed today (Tuesday) that Sunni differences are the most prominent reason for disrupting the session to choose a new speaker for Parliament, while he considered that involving the Popular Mobilization Forces in political work is incorrect.
Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali said during an interview with His Eminence within the activities of the Al-Rafidain Forum in Baghdad, that Sunni differences are the most prominent reason for disrupting the session to choose a new speaker for Parliament, indicating that each political party knows what it has and what it owes, but there are complications due to Sunni differences.
His Eminence indicated that the Shiite and Kurdish political parties must agree on the personality of the Speaker of Parliament, pointing out by saying: We do not impose on the Sunni component to choose a specific personality to head Parliament, especially since the Sunni political figures in 2003 became extinct and those present today are much fewer than them.
His Eminence Sheikh Khazali considered the statements against the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh Al-Fayyad, unacceptable, as he is a figure who has a major role.
His Eminence believed that it was not correct to involve the Popular Mobilization Forces in political work, but rather in security matters only, explaining: We believed that the Popular Mobilization Forces would have a political role previously in order to achieve balance.
His Eminence stated that political work is not covered by a certain age in the Social Retirement Law, stressing that there is no Asa’ib figure to lead the Popular Mobilization Forces, and it is necessary for Falih Al-Fayad to continue political work, as he has exceeded the legal age to manage the Popular Mobilization Authority, and that anyone who made a mistake must apologize. His Eminence confirmed that the Yazidi component in the country was greatly oppressed, especially during the terrorist attack by ISIS, and that the Sinjar Agreement occurred in the Al-Kadhimi government and was legally proven to be inapplicable since the judiciary is part of the administration of the Iraqi government.
Sheikh Khazali explained that Iraq needs all international relations except for the Zionist entity, indicating that despite our reservations about relations with America, Iraq must have good and balanced relations.
Regarding the participation of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq in the government, His Eminence pointed out that we presented technocratic ministers in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, and in the Sudanese government we presented political figures, adding: We provided all reasons for support to the brother Governor of Babylon, Adnan Faihan, and it will be the door to success for his work.
