Al-Baldawi confirms Iraq’s ability to liberate itself from American control and move towards diversifying the sources of arming its security forces.

The spokesman for the Al-Sadiqoon, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed today (Tuesday) Iraq’s ability to overcome the restrictions regarding the issue of arming the security services and go to reliable sources for purchasing weapons and maintaining the security and stability of the country.
Al-Baldawi said in a press statement, “Iraq has the ability to liberate itself from American control over the Iraqi armament file, but this matter requires a strong will and sufficient support and funding for this file”.
He added, “If the government wants to get rid of American control and move towards diversifying its sources of armament, it must set the necessary budget to import weapons and contract for them from reputable countries and origins”.
He stated that “the armament file requires the formation of a higher committee under the supervision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani in order to set points and priorities to ensure the arming of the security services away from any American restrictions that Washington may impose on Baghdad”.
