The representative of the Al-Sadiqoon and member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Zainab Jumaa Al-Moussawi, explained on Monday,  the reasons for the failure of generator contractors in Baghdad to comply with the instructions issued by the Provincial Council regarding processing hours and wages collected from the citizen, and while she stressed the importance of addressing those reasons, she called on citizens to report Violators will be subject to legal action.
Al-Moussawi said in a press interview that most of the generator contractors in Baghdad attributed the reason for their non-compliance with the operating instructions issued by the local government to the Ministry of Oil not providing them with the (diesel) shares allocated to them at the subsidized price on an ongoing basis.
Al-Mousawi pointed out that the Parliamentary Energy Committee, as a supervisory body, indicated that they were forced to buy (diesel) from the black market at high prices, which calls on them to raise the price of amperes to subscribers to compensate for fuel expenses.
At the same time, it also called on citizens to report generators that violate government pricing, in order to take legal measures against them, as they hold the citizen responsible for the defect in diesel processing.
She added that generator owners take advantage of the golden months (April, May, June, August, and September) to raise the price of amperes due to the increased demand for electricity and high temperatures, noting that this situation is spreading among generator contractors who are not registered with the governorate, and they are the ones who deliberately do not complete their registration procedures.
