The head of the Sadiqoon parliamentary bloc, Habib Al-Halawi, stressed today (Sunday) the importance of the Media and Communications Authority and the relevant unions confronting dramatic and media works that harm the national identity, especially the people of ancient Shiite cities.
Al-Halawi called on the government to form a supervisory department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers concerned with citizenship and preserving national identity to monitor and control national discourse in public and private institutions.
Al-Halawi added that he is closely following the dramatic, media and cultural materials presented in the media and communication platforms, which contain a lot of violations of the concept of democracy and freedom of expression, blatant attacks on national identity, and systematic abuse of the people of the middle south in a humiliating and unacceptable way, ignoring their great status and distinguished national role in the country.
