Al-Moussawi calls for an emergency parliamentary session to be held regarding the “Haritha” incident … Revealing the extent of corruption and mismanagement of the Basra government.

The representative of the Al-Sadiqoun parliamentary, Zainab Al-Moussawi, called Today (Wednesday) for an emergency parliamentary session to be held regarding the unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of a number of students in Al-Haritha district, indicating that the incident revealed the extent of corruption and mismanagement of the local government of Basra.
Al-Moussawi said, according to a statement provided by her media office, “The Al-Haritha incident is not the first of its kind, but there have been many cases of run-overs of primary school students, and this is the result of mismanagement of Basra Governorate”.
Al-Moussawi added, “The Al-Haritha incident reveals to us the extent of financial corruption in Basra Governorate, the inability of the executive authorities, starting from Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, all the way to the municipal officials in the governorate, and the failure to manage the most important governorates of Iraq in terms of oil, in addition to the fact that it is Iraq’s economic gateway.”
Al-Moussawi called on the Acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, to allocate an emergency session very soon, specifically before Eid Al-Fitr, to host Al-Eidani, governorate officials, and the mayor of Al-Haritha, to find
out the reasons for not building pedestrian crossing bridges on the highway in Al-Haritha.
Al-Mousawi concluded the statement by offering condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
