Al-Baldawi: Al’atar Altansiqei supports the option of electing a speaker of Parliament through consensus among the Sunni blocs.
The spokesman for the Al-Sadiqoon, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed today (Monday) that the forces of Al’atar Altansiqei are pushing towards a consensus among the Sunni blocs to resolve the issue of electing a new speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Baldawi said, “The position is still devoid of a new president, and this has a negative impact on the legislation of laws within the House of Representatives”.
He added, “The existing Sunni options for choosing a person to head Parliament require consensus among the Sunni forces, which are either agreeing on a specific personality (Al-Issawi or Al-Mashhadani), or withdrawing everyone’s nomination, then opening the nomination door again and keeping the matter for a vote by the House of Representatives”.
