Al-Halawi demands the expulsion of the American ambassador on the grounds of her interference in Iraq’s internal affairs and criticism of the laws legislated by Parliament.

The Al-Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc called today (Sunday) on the House of Representatives and the government to issue a decision to expel US Ambassador Alena Romanowski, against the backdrop of her blatant interference in Iraqi affairs and her attempt to impose dictates and orders in Iraq.
The head of the Sadiqoon, Habib Al-Halawi, wrote in a blog post on (X)Platform, that US Ambassador Elena Romanowski is trying to dictate orders and types, and interfere with parliamentary and governmental performance”.
He added that the latest of these interventions was “her criticism of the legislation approved by the House of Representatives criminalizing the fight against prostitution, which is in line with the Constitution, which says: Islam is the official religion of the country”.
Al-Halawi stressed, “Therefore, we call on Parliament and the government to issue an official decision to expel her from the country”.
