The representative of the Al-Sadiqoon, Ali Turki Al-Jamali, held today (Wednesday) the sacked Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the Head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, responsible for disrupting the session to elect a new Speaker of Parliament.
Al-Jamali said, “The last period witnessed media confusion targeting Al’atar Altansiqei by accusing it of obstructing the election of the Speaker of Parliament due to the management of the sessions by one of the parties to the Al’atar Altansiqei, namely Mohsen Al-Mandalawi”.
He added, “These allegations are unreal and false. The real reason is the struggle between Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar over the leadership of the Sunni component,” suggesting that “the issue of electing the Speaker of Parliament will be resolved next week”.
He pointed out, “Al’atar Altansiqei gave the Sunnis a 7-month period to resolve the dispute and hold the election session before the start of the legislative recess,” indicating, ” Al’atar Altansiqei, position came at the request of three Sunni forces in addition to the Shiite forces”.
