Regional developments and economic cooperation top Sheikh Khazali’s meeting with the Japanese ambassador in Baghdad.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, received today (Wednesday) in his office in Baghdad, the Ambassador of the State of Japan to Iraq, Mr. Futoshi Matsumoto.
A statement issued by Sheikh Al-Khazaali’s media office stated that during the meeting, international and regional developments were discussed, including the situation in Gaza, where the two parties agreed on the importance of finding peaceful and just solutions to this crisis, in a way that enhances security and stability in the region.
The statement added that the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially in the field of clean energy projects.
The meeting also touched on the security and political situation in Iraq, where Sheikh Al-Khazaali stressed the importance of enhancing stability as a basic factor for attracting foreign investments and supporting the national economy, indicating the importance of the role of the Japanese private sector in Iraq.
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his appreciation for Iraq’s pivotal role in the region, and stressed Japan’s readiness to enhance cooperation in all fields, in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly countries.
