Al-Baldawi denies placing the general amnesty and personal status laws in the same basket for voting.
The spokesman for the Sadiqoon parliamentary, Mohammed Al-Baldawi, denied on Monday that the general amnesty and personal status laws were placed in one basket for voting.
Al-Baldawi said, “Both laws have their own characteristics, and there is no intention, motive or goal to put them in one basket”.
He added that “voting on laws in one basket weakens the citizen’s confidence in the members of the House of Representatives”.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives will conduct, during its session today, Monday, the second reading of the proposal to amend Personal Status Law No. (118) of 1959, Articles 2 and 10, as well as the proposal for the second amendment to General Amnesty Law No. 27 of 2016.
