The spokesman for the Sadiqoon parliamentary, Mohammed Al-Baldawi, confirmed on Monday that there is no deep disagreement regarding the legislation of the Personal Status Amendment Law and the Popular Mobilization Forces Retirement and Salaries Law, expecting them to be passed during the upcoming sessions because they enjoy the consensus of the majority of political forces.
Al-Baldawi said in a press statement, “The suspension of the legislation to amend the Personal Status Law and the Popular Mobilization Forces Retirement and Salaries Law was due to the disagreement between the Kurdish representatives and the representatives of the western provinces regarding the law to return real estate and lands to their owners, which negatively affected the completion of the vote on the two laws included on the agenda of the session that was adjourned due to the tensions that occurred”.
He added, “There is no deep disagreement regarding the legislation of the Personal Status Amendment Law and the Popular Mobilization Forces Retirement and Salaries Law,” expecting them to be passed during the upcoming sessions because they enjoy the consensus of the majority of political forces”.
