Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes for the Sadiqoon, Rafiq Al-Salihi, confirmed today (Thursday) that the water crisis with Turkey is ongoing, noting that internationalizing the issue through international courts will be among the options on the table.
Al-Salihi said in a press statement, “Turkey is creating security and economic crises inside Iraq,” noting that “the water file is ongoing, and its repercussions are disastrous for Iraq”.
He added, “The dialogues with the Turkish side have not stopped, and there are intensive efforts to reach points of understanding that will lead to achieving positive results”.
He pointed out that “internationalizing the water issue is possible because the situation may worsen if the exceptional circumstances it is going through are not responded to, especially since the crisis in Iraq is worrying”.
