Zahra Al-Bajari, head of the Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee for the Al-Sadiqoon, warned today (Monday) against the concerned authorities’ disregard for contracting with lecturers and graduates from the sons of Basra Governorate, noting that the demands cannot be ignored.
Al-Bujari said in a press statement, “There is a clear negligence towards Basra Governorate and its people, especially in the field of appointments within the oil companies operating in the licensing rounds”.
She added, “Basra Governorate is considered the first in the production and export of oil and gas and has many revenues such as ports and others, but it only gets a little”.
She pointed out that “the Kurdistan Region is constantly receiving an appropriate share in the budget despite the great ambiguity in the issue of exporting Kurdistan’s oil and despite the fact that the region’s oil revenues do not reach the federal government”.
Al-Bujari called on the central government to “give the governorate justice regarding the petrodollar project and the rest of its rights in a manner that is commensurate with its great giving”.
