The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, confirmed today (Saturday) that the eavesdropping case is a purely judicial file, stressing that this file “cannot be subject to political calculations” and that “the procedures have begun” and that “there is no immunity for anyone in this matter”.
Sheikh Al-Khazali said during a televised interview that the eavesdropping issue is “not a political file” and that it was discussed explicitly within the Coordination Framework with the Prime Minister, where it was unanimously agreed that “this file is a judicial one”.
His Eminence explained that the Prime Minister himself confirmed his “confidence in the judiciary” and said that he “not only respects it but trusts it completely”.
His Eminence pointed out that all parties “trust the judiciary” in this file and that “there is no need for it to be a subject of controversy” as long as an agreement has been reached on a mechanism to resolve this issue.
In another context, His Eminence addressed the internal and external political challenges, explaining that there is “a kind of gap between the head of the judiciary and the executive authority” in the recent period, stressing the importance of working to strengthen the internal situation by resolving and overcoming these problems, and filling the gaps that some have tried to exploit, and this is the only way to confront any challenge”.
His Eminence stressed that “Iraq has many strengths,” noting that what the country is currently going through is “an accumulated epidemic,” and yet “we can build on it to increase our strength” and focus on the national interest as a basis for decision-making.
His Eminence also stressed the importance of joint work between political forces and state authorities, saying: “The current stage requires creating the greatest degree of harmony between political forces and various authorities”.
His Eminence continued, “The government of the Coordination Framework and the government of Mr. Al-Sudani have proven over more than two years that they are capable of achieving real field steps and planting hope in the souls of our people with all their components”.
