Sheikh Al-Khazali: “Al-Sadiqoon” is studying two options for the upcoming elections, and amendments to the election law are under discussion.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, revealed on Saturday the most prominent preparations for the upcoming elections, indicating that the (Sadiqoon) is currently studying two options for its electoral orientations, the first of which is to form an alliance with some forces within the Al’atar Altansiqei and the second is to run on an independent list with local allies, while he pointed out that this issue is still under discussion and no decision has been made regarding it yet.
Regarding amending the election law, Sheikh Al-Khazali stressed that this issue must first be raised within the Al’atar Altansiqei to hear different points of view, and if consensus is reached, the appropriate decision will be taken, noting that the discussion of amendments to the election law has not been raised within the Al’atar Altansiqei yet.
His Eminence pointed out that he had not heard any indications that the Prime Minister was seeking to form an alliance with the Al’atar Altansiqei forces on the condition of obtaining a second term, noting that the Prime Minister had the right to seek a second term, considering this a natural matter.
His Eminence stressed that the Al’atar Altansiqei is the body that discusses whether it is better to run in the elections with one list or with a number of lists. He said that there are many reasons that push them to make the most appropriate decision in this regard.
His Eminence explained that the election law in this session allows for the representation of intermediate lists, which makes it likely that a decision will not be made for the Al’atar Altansiqei to run on one list, but rather it is expected that a number of lists will run.
His Eminence continued, saying that the Al’atar Altansiqei forces, as happened in the previous provincial council elections, will agree to run on separate lists and then coordinate later to form the government.
