Sheikh Al-Khazali: Doctrine is the fundamental pillar that prompted the sons of the Popular Mobilization Forces to sacrifice their lives in defense of the land and the holy places.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, stressed that faith is the fundamental pillar that prompted the members of the Popular Mobilization Forces to sacrifice their lives in defense of their people and their sanctities, stressing that any attempt to target faith aims to separate society from its true beliefs.
Sheikh Al-Khazali said in his speech during his attendance at the second conference of Al-Sadiqoon students held in the holy city of Karbala, that the students’ defense of their identity is a defense of civilization, history, customs and religion, stressing that the Iraqi cultural identity was and still is targeted by the forces of occupation and terrorism.
His Eminence explained that the American occupation tried to obliterate the cultural identity of Iraq through a distorted intellectual system, while ISIS sought to destroy the cultural heritage by targeting the antiquities of Nineveh and Hatra, in an attempt to strike at Iraq’s ancient history.
Sheikh Al-Khazaali explained that ISIS represents a religious ideological system that belongs to the so-called Salafi thought, which had a long-term influence, but it was not part of the Sunni history that extended from the era of the caliphs to the Ottoman Empire, as the antiquities were not targeted during those eras.
His Eminence pointed out that ISIS did not target Iraqi antiquities arbitrarily, but rather the real goal was to eliminate the history, civilization and cultural identity of this people, while stressing the necessity of preserving the cultural and ideological heritage of Iraq, and confronting all attempts aimed at distorting or obliterating it.
