Ahmed al-Moussawi, representing the Sadiqoon, confirmed on Tuesday that attempts to include the Popular Mobilization Forces law on the parliament’s agenda are facing deliberate obstacles. He explained that his bloc has been pressuring the parliament’s leadership for months to include the law on the agenda, but he pointed out that the bloc’s representative in the parliament’s leadership was the reason for its non-inclusion.
Al-Moussawi said in a post on the “X” platform, “The Prime Minister sent a letter to the House of Representatives requesting the withdrawal of the law, at a time when we were waiting for him to send the salary scale law, which he is still deliberately delaying.” He considered these measures to reflect the efforts of some parties to obstruct laws that guarantee the rights of the Popular Mobilization Forces fighters and achieve justice among state employees.
He added that “the deliberate delay of these laws is intended to preserve private gains and build empires at the expense of citizens,” stressing that “efforts are continuing to pressure for the passage of laws that do justice to the Popular Mobilization Forces”.
Al-Moussawi concluded by saying: “Nothing lasts forever, and those who have done wrong will soon know what their fate will be. The outcome will be for the Popular Mobilization Forces and its men, for without them you would not have held your positions”.
