Zahra Al-Bajari, head of the parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee for the Sadiqoon, confirmed on Saturday that her efforts and demands to cut off oil supplies to Jordan and review trade agreements between the two countries, following the offensive transgressions committed by the Jordanian public against Iraq and its people, have resulted in official action by the Jordanian government to hold the perpetrators accountable.
Al-Bajari explained in a post on the “X” platform that pressure from Iraqi parliament and the public prompted Jordanian authorities to open a legal investigation into the violators and take legal measures to refer them to the judiciary and imprison them. She emphasized that this measure represents a victory for Iraq and its people, and a reflection of the strength of the national voice in defending the country’s dignity.
Al-Bajari added that this step comes in response to the voice of truth that we have voiced so forcefully, calling on the Iraqi government to continue reviewing economic and trade agreements with Jordan to ensure respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and prevent a recurrence of such abuses in the future.
