The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais Khazali, affirmed on Monday that what is happening in Syria and the region is aimed at fulfilling the Zionist entity’s ambitions to occupy territories and reach the Euphrates River. He pointed out that the biblical project seeks to reach the Chaldean city of Ur in southern Iraq, which the Zionist plan considers “Israeli land”.
During his Eid al-Fitr sermon, Sheikh al-Khazali stated that the “David’s Corridor” is a real project being pursued by Zionist forces, aiming to redraw the map of the Middle East along ideological, ethnic, and sectarian lines. He emphasized that these plans include supporting the secession of Kurdish territories from Syria and Iraq, which underscores the strategic dimension of this project in fragmenting the region.
His Eminence also noted that the Zionist entity has effectively reached the Al-Tanf base near the Iraqi border, with only a few kilometers separating it from Iraq. He considered that “Iraq represents the Zionist entity’s greatest and primary enemy”.
His Eminence explained that Iraq is capable of playing a significant role in countering the US-Israeli project to partition Syria, considering that preserving Syria’s unity is a strategic necessity for maintaining Iraq’s stability. He emphasized that continuing to stand idly by will be futile, as the enemy will not remove Iraq from the conflict equation.
His Eminence Sheikh Al-Khazaali also called on Iraqi leaders to prioritize the strategic Zionist threat to Iraq and not merely focus on interim issues. He emphasized that what is happening in the region reflects a major ideological battle through which Zionism seeks to reshape the geopolitical reality of the Middle East.
