Al-Saadi: Sheikh Khazali’s statements reveal a serious threat, and the government is required to investigate and re-enact the Popular Mobilization Forces law.

Sheikh Saad al-Saadi, a member of the political bureau of the Sadiqoon, confirmed on Tuesday that recent statements made by His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali contain dangerous information that must be investigated and the details revealed to protect Iraq’s security and sovereignty.
Al-Saadi said in a televised statement: “This is not the first time His Eminence Sheikh Khazali has revealed important information that serves Iraq and its people. The government must open a direct investigation to uncover these militias and hold them accountable for high treason against Iraq.
Al-Saadi added, “If the leadership of the Popular Mobilization Forces is unaware of the armed formation within the PMF, this would be a major catastrophe and disaster. We have not yet heard of any official action or investigation by the government or the PMF regarding the information revealed by Sheikh Khazali”.
In a related context, Al-Saadi criticized the decision to withdraw the Popular Mobilization Forces law from Parliament, considering it “ungrateful for the enormous sacrifices made by the Popular Mobilization Forces to protect Iraq and its people”.
Al-Saadi also stressed the need to “return the Popular Mobilization Forces law to Parliament immediately, in honor of the sacrifices of its sons,” calling on the government and political forces to move away from narrow interests and move forward with passing this law.
Al-Saadi concluded by stressing that “the Sadiqoon will spare no effort in taking immediate action to legislate and pass the Popular Mobilization Law, to guarantee the rights of its members and protec”.
