Saad al-Saadi, a member of the political bureau of the Sadiqoon, expressed his deep astonishment on Monday at the continued government and political silence on the issue of Turkish-backed militias, warning that these groups have become a real threat to Iraqi national security.
Al-Saadi said in a press statement, “We are extremely surprised by the continued government and political silence regarding the issue of the Turkish-backed militias, which have become a real threat to Iraqi national security,” calling for a firm national stance against these groups.
Al-Saadi urged all national forces, without exception, to shoulder their responsibilities in confronting this threat, calling on the three presidencies and the leadership of all political blocs to adopt a unified stance that places Iraq’s best interests above all other considerations.
Al-Saadi also renewed his call to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to address this sensitive issue with the highest priority, in appreciation of the sacrifices of the people of Iraq who created stability with their blood and patience.
