Salam al-Jazayiri, a member of the political bureau of the Sadiqoon, said on Tuesday that the government’s silence regarding Turkish actions in Iraq constitutes a “major problem,” warning of what he described as a “declared Turkish Trojan horse” within the country.
In a press statement, Al-Jazayiri said, “The government’s silence on Turkish ambitions represents a clear danger,” pointing to the existence of a “declared Turkish occupation represented by the Zlikan base,” expressing surprise at the government’s failure to take a firm stance on this presence.
He added, “The government has accurate intelligence information and reports about the ongoing plot in Mosul and Kirkuk,” noting that “the Nineveh Guards are working as protectors of the Turkish base in Zlikan”.
Al- Jazayiri also revealed that “the Zilkan base houses 2,119 soldiers who received their training in Türkiye and operate within Iraqi territory according to the Turkish agenda”.
