Zainab al-Moussawi, a member of parliament for the Sadiqoon, reiterated on Thursday, her unwavering national stance on the Khor Abdullah issue, stressing that this waterway represents an integral part of Iraqi territory and a symbol of national sovereignty that cannot be relinquished under any circumstances.
Al-Moussawi said in a press statement: “Iraq does not accept diktats and will not give up an inch of its land, neither today nor in the future.” She noted that “the decisions issued by the Federal Supreme Court do not merely represent a legal opinion but also express the constitutional will of the Iraqi people, which clearly affirmed that any agreement that relinquishes our sovereignty over the Khor Abdullah is null and void”.
Al-Moussawi called on all national forces, representatives, and media institutions to “take a clear stance now, because history does not wait, and gray positions do not protect rights.” She emphasized that “sovereignty is indivisible, and remaining silent about it is a betrayal of the voice of the Iraqi people”.
Al-Moussawi concluded by saying, “Khawr Abdullah is Iraqi and will remain so, not by a foreign fatwa or a political agreement concluded in the dark”.
