The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, affirmed today (Friday) that the martyred Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (may God sanctify his secret) was an exceptional man who had a unique relationship with God Almighty. He was a divine project that produced a comprehensive school of awareness and courage, which had the greatest impact on the transformations of contemporary Iraq.
This came during a speech delivered by His Eminence on the 27th anniversary of the martyrdom of His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah, the great religious authority, Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (may God sanctify his secret) and his two pure sons, in which he reviewed a number of the bright aspects of al-Sadr’s personality and his jihadi and intellectual career.
He pointed out that the qualities and virtues that the martyred Sayyid possessed are rarely found in one person, which led him to assume numerous roles that extended to various fields and had a positive impact on the Islamic state in general and the Iraqi people in particular, to the point that he described him by saying: “He was truly a nation in one man”.
Regarding the circumstances that the martyred Sayyid discovered, Sheikh Al-Khazaali continued to talk about the unjust battle that the Baath regime launched to distort his morale, and then embellish him because he deliberately participated: “Despite the pressure, defamation, and persecution, his sermons and fatwas were igniting fire in the dry grass, and we were almost as big as Qabeen’s bow or less than the Baath collapsed due to the distinction and courage that he planted in the souls of the people”.
His Eminence noted that Sayyid al-Sadr was not oblivious to the major dangers threatening the nation. He was the first to coin the term “the ominous trinity,” referring to America, Israel, and the regimes affiliated with them. He emphasized that he was a pioneer in warning against American hegemony and its ideological ambitions in Iraq and the region.
His Eminence explained that the martyred Sadr was a supporter of the Palestinian cause and the resistance to the Zionist occupation, and that if he had been able to provide them with money and weapons, he would have done so. He praised his self-denial, his prioritization of the public interest, and his constant call for unity among Muslims and followers of the same sect.
In a related context, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali affirmed that most of the Iraqi resistance’s milestones were the fruit of the Muhammad al-Sadr school, adding: “The bulk of the resistance to the American occupation, the defense of the shrine of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), and the confrontation with ISIS are the product of the school of awareness and courage established by Sayyid al-Sadr”.
His Eminence also pointed out that a large number of the martyred leaders in the resistance factions and the Popular Mobilization Forces were followers of Sayyid Muhammad al-Sadr, and were guided by his ideological project, and even followed the path of paving the way for the appearance of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) with awareness and courage.
On the 22nd anniversary of the founding of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh al-Khazali said, “We remember that this jihadist movement has offered more than 1,500 martyrs and thousands more wounded. It has been present in every arena where Iraq has faced challenges. It is but one of the fruits of this holy saint, the eloquent authority, and the knowledgeable scholar”.
He emphasized that the righteous martyrs who fell in defense of the homeland are the fruits of Muhammad al-Sadr’s upbringing, “they are men who have been true to their pledge to God.” He emphasized that the movement will continue on his path, pledging to uphold the authority, adhere to the religious authority, and not compromise on issues of sovereignty, security, and national dignity.
At the end of his speech, His Eminence said: “We pledge to Sayyed Mohammad al-Sadr and to our people that we will continue on his path and exert our efforts to politically empower the state of divine justice, by correcting the course of the political process and standing up to corruption and the corrupt. My success comes only from God. In Him I have relied on and to Him I turn. He is our Master, the best Master and the best Supporter”.
