Al-Hamdani calls on the government to resubmit the service and retirement law for Popular Mobilization Forces fighters to Parliament … In preparation for its legislation.
Thamer Dhiban al-Hamdani of the Sadiqoon called on the government on Monday to resubmit the Popular Mobilization Forces’ military service and retirement law to the House of Representatives, paving the way for its enactment during the upcoming sessions.
Al-Hamdani said in a press statement, “The government withdrew the Popular Mobilization Forces’ service and retirement law from parliament without prior notice,” stressing that “this law is of great importance to the legislative authority, as it addresses the conditions of a wide segment of Popular Mobilization Forces members”.
Al-Hamdani stressed that “the passage of the law represents a necessary step towards ensuring the retirement and service rights of the mujahideen within the ranks of the Popular Mobilization Forces”.
Al-Hamdani also pointed out that the Popular Mobilization Forces “are Iraq’s safety valve and deserve legislative justice”.
