Habib al-Halawi, head of the Sadiqoon parliamentary, called on the Iraqi government on Monday to take urgent steps to evacuate all Turkish military bases from Iraqi territory, stressing that the continued presence of these forces constitutes a flagrant violation of national sovereignty.
Al-Halawi said in a post on the “X” platform, “After the Kurdistan Workers’ Party announced a cessation of armed activity, there is no longer any justification for Turkish forces to remain inside Iraq”.
Al-Halawi called on the government to take urgent steps to evacuate all Turkish bases, end the violation of national sovereignty, and protect Iraqi lives and the country’s resources from the ongoing aggression.
