Al-Baldawi calls for the immediate withdrawal of Turkish forces and the cancellation of the memorandum of understanding with Ankara to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty.
Representative Mohammed al-Baldawi, spokesman for the Sadiqoon parliamentary, affirmed on Monday that Iraq’s sovereignty is a top priority that cannot be compromised under any circumstances. He emphasized the need for the Iraqi government to take urgent and decisive action to end the Turkish military presence within Iraqi territory.
In a post on the Aks platform, Al-Baldawi said that Iraq’s sovereignty is its top priority and cannot be relinquished under any circumstances. He called on the Iraqi government to take swift and decisive action to ensure the withdrawal of Turkish forces from Iraqi territory, especially after the Kurdistan Workers’ Party announced the end of its activities and the cessation of combat operations.
Al-Baldawi stressed the importance of canceling the 2024 Iraqi-Turkish Memorandum of Understanding, stating that it poses a direct threat to Iraq’s security and sovereign decision-making.
