Sheikh Khazali receives Al-Sudani to discuss preparations for the Arab Summit and developments in the security and sovereignty files.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, received Today (Tuesday) Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani at the movement’s headquarters in Baghdad.
A statement issued by Sheikh Al-Khazali’s media office stated that the two sides discussed, at the beginning of the meeting, the ongoing preparations for hosting the 34th Arab Summit in the capital, Baghdad, where His Eminence Sheikh Al-Amin praised the government’s efforts and high-level preparations to ensure the success of this prominent Arab event.
His Eminence Sheikh Al-Khazali stressed that Iraq’s return to the forefront of joint Arab action represents the culmination of the path of balance and sovereignty pursued by the current government.
The meeting also discussed the latest political and security developments in the country, with a focus on ensuring internal stability and unifying positions on national challenges.
The meeting specifically addressed the issue of the Turkish military presence inside Iraqi territory, especially in light of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s announcement of its dissolution. Both sides stressed the need to put an end to any violation of Iraqi sovereignty and work to formulate a unified national position on this matter that preserves rights and prevents interference.
During the meeting, the two parties also stressed the importance of strengthening national coordination between state institutions and political forces to ensure Iraq’s stability, preserve its gains, and fortify its sovereign decision in the face of regional and international challenges.
