Sheikh Al-Khazali: The successes of Al-Sudani’s government outweigh its negatives, and we are heading into a “hot, environmentally and politically” summer.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais Khazali, affirmed on Thursday that despite some errors and negatives, the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s positives and achievements outweigh those negatives. He noted that the overall assessment of the government’s performance shows remarkable success.
In a televised interview, Sheikh Khazali said, “There is no such thing as a complete prime minister or government, in the sense that there are positives and negatives, successes and mistakes. But I believe, in a general assessment, the successes and positives of Al-Sudani’s government outweigh its negatives”.
His Eminence pointed out that “among the government’s most important achievements is restoring people’s confidence in the political process, along with political and security stability and improved economic conditions”.
Regarding the near future, Sheikh Al- Khazali predicted that the remaining period of the government’s term would be difficult, describing it as “one of the lean years,” not only based on electoral expectations, but also based on realistic indicators related to the electricity and water sectors. He noted that “the country has reached its lowest water reserve level since 1930, and these indicators could cast a heavy shadow over the overall situation”.
His Eminence also warned of a hot summer, both environmentally and politically, stressing that “the electoral competition will be extremely intense, and that there are external parties seeking to exploit the situation to incite confusion, unrest, and demonstrations, escalating them to a level that could pose a threat to internal stability”.
His Eminence continued, “With these indicators, I believe that Al-Sudani’s government has achieved success under the circumstances in which it was born, and we expect, God willing, that the next political phase will be even better”.
