Al-Bajari calls on the government to return the Popular Mobilization Forces’ service and retirement law to parliament … to guarantee the rights of the Mujahideen.

Zahra Al-Bajari, head of the Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee for the Sadiqoon, called on the government on Thursday to resubmit the Popular Mobilization Forces’ (PMF) Service and Retirement Law to the House of Representatives, after it was previously withdrawn. She emphasized that this law represents the basic framework for guaranteeing the rights of PMF members.
Al-Bujari said in a press statement that “the restructuring law that was sent as a replacement for the Civil Service and Retirement Law does not replace the basic legislation,” explaining that “the restructuring regulates specific aspects, while the Civil Service and Retirement Law addresses the rights of members in terms of permanent status, financial benefits, and career path”.
She added, “There is no justification for repealing an existing law regulating the Popular Mobilization Forces and re-enacting it from scratch, at a time when there is an urgent need to enact a civil service and retirement law as soon as possible”.
Al-Bujari also stressed the “need to return the withdrawn law to Parliament for urgent legislative action, ensuring the rights of fighters and strengthening the legal structure of the Popular Mobilization Forces”.
