Sheikh Al-Khazali: Iraq is on the path to recovery, and it is our responsibility to accelerate its progress by achieving justice and fairness for the people.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, affirmed on Saturday that Iraq is witnessing significant progress on the path to recovery, noting that the current electoral cycle is better than its predecessor, indicating an improvement in the country’s political situation.
During his Eid al-Adha sermons, Sheikh al-Khazali said, “The country is on the path to recovery, meaning this election cycle is better than the previous one, and our role as responsible leaders is to accelerate Iraq’s path to recovery.” He emphasized the importance of the leadership’s role in accelerating this reform process.
His Eminence criticized the misunderstanding of public responsibility in the post-2003 period, explaining that “since then, the country has witnessed a lack of a correct understanding of public responsibility, which varies from one official to another.” He emphasized that this responsibility is “a duty that must be performed correctly and may be more obligatory and accountable before God Almighty”.
His Eminence added, “God Almighty has placed in man the ability to bear a responsibility that heaven and earth cannot bear,” noting that “the creature who can turn to God in his dealings with creation is the one who can bear responsibility”.
Sheikh Al-Khazali explained that “the foundation of public responsibility and the condition for its success is achieving justice and fairness to the people,” emphasizing that the injustice practiced by the previous regime was a primary cause of widespread poverty and unemployment. He said, “If there is a high rate of unemployment and poverty in the country, then that’s understandable because the previous regime was unjust”.
While noting that “the current situation is not like before,” His Eminence acknowledged that “the level of our people’s ambition has not yet been achieved,” but he emphasized that “Iraq has a wealth of human and material resources that meet the needs of its people”.
His Eminence reiterated his assertion that “the country is on the path to recovery,” emphasizing that “our job as responsible citizens is to accelerate Iraq’s path to recovery”.
