Al-Halawi: The Speicher tragedy is a major human crime, and just retribution is an unwavering demand.
Habib al-Halawi, head of the Sadiqoon parliamentary, commemorated the anniversary of the Speicher massacre on Thursday, stressing that it represents one of the most heinous crimes committed against humanity, when the hand of treachery and betrayal extended to assassinate more than 1,700 martyrs among Iraq’s finest youth in cold blood, simply because they were sons of this nation.
Al-Halawi said in a post on the “X” platform, “This crime will remain a testament to the brutality of terrorism, and the blood of the martyrs will remain a trust around our necks and a pledge that we will remain faithful to their sacrifices”.
He concluded by offering condolences for the souls of the righteous martyrs, reiterating his call for “just retribution for all those who planned, financed, and contributed to this tragedy”.
