The representative of the Al-Sadiqoun parliamentary, Rafiq Hashem Al-Salhiy, called today (Sunday) for holding an extraordinary session of Parliament to discuss the Turkish military presence in northern Iraq.
Al-Salhiy said, “The Turkish violations of national sovereignty are to put pressure on Iraq to achieve some Turkish interests”.
He added, “Turkish forces are still penetrating Iraq’s borders and striking Iraqi civilian targets in Dohuk Governorate”.
He pointed out that “the continued Turkish incursion into Iraqi territory is a violation of the country’s sovereignty”.
