Salem Al-Abadi, a member of the political bureau of Al Sadiqoon, attributed today (Friday) Turkey’s persistence and the penetration of its forces into Iraqi territory to the political and military laxity of the Kurdistan Region, calling on the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to internationalize the file and take a firm stance against the continued Turkish violations of sovereignty.

Salem Al-Abadi, a member of the political bureau of Al Sadiqoon, attributed today (Friday) Turkey’s persistence and the penetration of its forces into Iraqi territory to the political and military laxity of the Kurdistan Region, calling on the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to internationalize the file and take a firm stance against the continued Turkish violations of sovereignty.
Al-Abadi said in a televised interview, “The Turkish incursion into northern Iraq has reached more than 100 locations,” indicating that “the attempt by Turkey to interfere in Iraqi affairs is unacceptable”.
Al-Abadi revealed that “the Turkish plane that entered Iraq is a spy plane and is also used for military purposes,” wondering about “how the Turkish plane reached Kirkuk and the objectives of spying on the province”.
Al-Abadi considered that “the process of the Turkish incursion was facilitated by the political and military laxity of Kurdistan,” stressing “the necessity of there being a real Iraqi will to prevent any violations in the internal Iraqi affair”.
He also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to “raise the file internationally, deal with it, and take a position in the international community,” while expressing his surprise at the absence of Peshmerga forces or any military action by the region in the Turkish interventions.
