Sheikh Al-Khazali congratulates the Yazidis on the Yazidi New Year and calls for the launch of comprehensive reconstruction in Sinjar.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais Khazali, congratulated on Wednesday, the Yazidi community in Iraq and around the world on the Yazidi New Year. He emphasized that this year’s holiday comes amidst an atmosphere of security and stability, particularly in the Sinjar and Bashiqa regions, where Yazidis live in peace after years of suffering.
In a post on the “X” platform, Sheikh Al-Khazali said that the noble Yazidi community has made great sacrifices and paid a heavy price to adhere to its authentic Iraqi identity, which makes their participation in this occasion a national and moral duty. He wished them continue well-being, security, and stability.
His Eminence explained that this year’s Eid is exceptional for the Yazidis, as it marks the first time in more than fifty years that thousands of them have received title deeds to their homes, following a long period of deprivation imposed by previous regimes. He considered this an important step that must be followed by greater government action to ensure the return of displaced Yazidis to their areas after a full decade of forced displacement.
His Eminence also called on the Iraqi government to launch a comprehensive reconstruction campaign for the Sinjar region, including compensation for those affected, recognition of the rights of martyrs, and the expedited return of abducted women. He also called on the Iraqi government to rebuild thousands of destroyed homes and hundreds of schools, health centers, and public and private buildings destroyed by terrorism and conflict.
Sheikh al-Khazali stressed the continued full support of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq for their Yazidi brothers throughout Sinjar, until they achieve security, stability, and complete prosperity in their homeland, Iraq.
