Ali Turki Al-Jamali, a member of the Al-Sadiqoon and a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, confirmed on Thursday his absolute rejection of any presence of the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the current Syrian President, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, at the Arab Summit or any form of relations with Syria in his presence.
Al-Jamali said in a press statement, “Al-Julani has transformed from a murderer and a butcher to a man supported by some countries, and this is completely unacceptable,” stressing that the Iraqi government will not reach the stage of inviting a person who committed crimes on Iraqi territory.
He added that there is a common ideological background between Khamis al-Khanjar and al-Julani, which may form a common link between them, noting that their loyalty to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is one, as they are considered his “obedient children”.
Al-Jamali explained that Khamis Al-Khanjar was the first supporter of the treason platforms and all the operations that targeted the Iraqi army, expressing his absolute rejection of any attempts to polish the image of figures involved in the shedding of Iraqi blood.
In a related context, Al-Jamali called on the neighboring countries to apologize to the Iraqi people and compensate them for the damages they suffered, stressing that the Arab countries were the most responsible for the siege and suffering of Iraq.
Regarding the position on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Al-Jamali explained: “We do not have any differences with him, but we will direct a parliamentary question to him if Al-Julani is invited to the Arab Summit”.
