Ali Turki Al-Jamali, a representative of the Sadiqoon, warned On Friday, of the recent moves of Khamis Al-Khanjar, which he considered a great danger to Iraqi security, noting that his negative role appeared clearly during the demonstration squares and the entry of ISIS into Iraq.
Al-Jamali said in a televised interview, “Al-Khanjar is an intelligence element inside Iraq, and is responsible for destabilizing the security situation, as he plays a role similar to that of the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, as both of them work according to a drawn-up plan awaiting implementation”.
In a related context, Al-Jamali warned of “the Turkish project that represents an imminent danger to Iraq, especially since its implementation may be carried out through figures such as Al-Khanjar, which requires a unified national position to confront it”.
Al-Jamali also criticized the performance of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considering that it “is out of step with the flock and contradicts the internal position regarding the current events in Syria”.
Al-Jamali stressed the need for there to be “consensus between foreign policy and the political and security reality in Iraq, especially with regard to dealing with terrorist organizations and those involved in destabilizing the region”.
Regarding the upcoming summit next May, Al-Jamali called on the Iraqi government to “not invite Abu Muhammad al-Julani to visit Baghdad and participate in the summit, especially in light of the regional support he enjoys, despite his involvement in terrorist crimes and daily massacres against civilians in Syria”.
He added, “Al-Julani is responsible for the Al-Musayyib bombing and many other terrorist operations, which is enough to condemn him and take a firm stance towards him, instead of overlooking his crimes or trying to give him any political or diplomatic cover”.
