Al-Baldawi: The anniversary of the Al-Sina’a Stadium bombing is a moment to remember the sacrifices and renew the pledge to continue the path of the martyrs.

Representative Mohammed al-Baldawi, spokesman for the Sadiqoon, commemorated the anniversary of the terrorist bombing that targeted supporter of the Sadiqoon movement during an election rally at Baghdad’s Al-Sina’a Stadium on Thursday. He emphasized that this treacherous attack will only strengthen the movement and its supporters’ resolve to continue the path of change and resistance.
In an official statement, Al-Baldawi said, “Today marks a painful anniversary and a treacherous incident that sought to undermine the resolve of our people, who chose, at that historic moment, to express their support for the Sadiq Sadiqoon and its national project, defying all tools of terrorism and sabotage”.
He added: “We, in the Sadiqoon, as we remember this heinous crime, pray for the souls of our righteous martyrs, foremost among them the martyred hero Qasim Salem, head of the Great Prophet Scout Association, and the younger brother of Hajj Hassan Salem. We affirm that their pure blood will not be in vain but will bear witness to the great sacrifices made by our people for the sake of freedom and dignity.
Al-Baldawi pointed out that this attack was not merely a criminal act, but rather an attempt to silence the voice of the people and obstruct their national progress, explaining that: “Terrorism sought to break the will of the masses, but the widespread popular support we witnessed for the movement after the crime was a firm response to all those who are lying in wait for this nation and its security”.
Al-Baldawi affirmed the Sadiqoon commitment to moving forward in achieving the goals for which the martyrs were martyred, saying, “We renew our pledge of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs, and we will continue on their path until we achieve the goals for which they were martyred. Their pure blood will remain a beacon illuminating the movement’s path, and no attempt at violence or intimidation will make us forget it”.
He continued, saying: “This painful anniversary represents a symbol of the steadfastness of the resistant Iraq, whose will is not broken by the forces of darkness, but rather continues its struggle for a future of security and justice.
The statement concluded with prayers for mercy and eternal rest for Iraq’s martyrs, emphasizing that true glory belongs to those who sacrificed their pure blood in defense of the homeland and its dignity.
